Corrie Film Club presents ...

Leave no Trace (USA 2018 Cert 12 1 hour 44 minutes)

-

Debra Granik’s powerful and poignant film Leave No Trace is Corrie Film Club’s offering for January.

This award winning film, based on Peter Rock’s novel My Abandonment, revolves around a teenage girl and her father who have lived undetected for years in Forest Park, a vast wood on the edge of Portland, Oregon.

A chance encounter leads to their discovery and removal from the park and into the charge of a social service agency.

Attempts are made to re-introduce them to society, but there follow a series of adoptions by and escapes from well-meaning people unable to accept the free way of life that they have been living.

After trying to adapt, they embark on a perilous journey into the wilderness.

Subtle and thought provoking, the film has a lot to say about the way we live. Leave No Trace is definitely worth seeing.

It will be shown in Corrie and Sannox village hall tomorrow (Sunday) at 8pm. Everyone welcome.
