Grinduro started when a handful of Giro employees saw the opportunity to create an organized event that celebrated our favorite style of riding. To be clear, we’re not saying that we invented gravel or that no one had ever bombed down singletrack on drop bars before Grinduro. But we are proud founders of this movement that’s grown bigger than any of us ever expected. Giro is based in California, so we’re a long way from home, and we’re stoked to be back on Arran. And with the addition of more supporters this looks to be the best edition of Grinduro Scotland yet. During this year’s ride/race we’re keeping a steady focus on the #partytoraceratio with a new addition to the festivities – we’re hosting a Poker Ride during Grinduro! Never done one of these before? No sweat. Just grab the playing card in your swag bag, and a draw card at each stop during the race. Then come by at the finish to slap a high-five and see if your hand is a winner. And after the race, get cleaned-up for the party at the pop-up barbershop. It’s true – we’re giving fresh cuts post-race on a first-come, first-served basis! Because going fast is looking good. Other than that – enjoy the ride, go fast, take chances (but stay safe!), stop and take in the views, tell some stories, make some friends, skid around some turns and savor every opportunity to enjoy Arran.
