Cameron on the winning team at leadership event

-

Cameron Bruce of Arran’s Food Journey recently undertook the 2020/21 Scottish Enterprise rural leadership programme, which is designed to equip rural business owners and managers with the confidence and skills to make bold decisions and to get the best from themselves, their business and their team.

The course culminates with the 40 delegates split into an eight-team competition to develop a business or social enterprise project plan, submitted as a video.

Cameron was part of the winning team ‘Rural Together’ whose project idea was to create a social enterprise aimed at combating loneliness and isolation in rural communities.

Rural leadership programme highly recommended

They would do this by getting each of the 600 rural leaders alumni from the 14 years of the programme to organise digital and physical events that are a combination of a formal talk or farm tour followed by a social gathering.

Cameron, who also works for VisitArran, said he was delighted to be part of the winning team, adding that he would highly recommend the rural leadership programme from both a learning and a networking perspective.
