Patricia and Eilidh will keep walking for dementia charity
A Brodick woman is going to keep on walking for charity after completing a monthlong sponsored dog walk for Dementia UK.
Patricia Templeton got in touch with the Banner after reading about the efforts being made to make Arran a dementia-friendly island.
Patricia said: ‘I have been doing the walk with my young rescue, Eilidh and we are often seen around Brodick getting the miles in. We are just about to finish our March walk 100k challenge so thought we’d finish off walking in March and continue into April.
‘We raised a whopping £390 in our first challenge and we are so grateful to everyone for supporting us.
‘I’m raising money for Dementia UK and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate £5 or £500. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support.
‘Dementia UK is a national charity, committed to improving the quality of life for all people affected by dementia. We provide mental health nurses specialising in dementia care, called Admiral Nurses.
‘We did this walk to honour all our friends, volunteers, staff and members at The Corstorphine Dementia Project.’
Patricia has created a fundraiser for Dementia UK which can be accessed through her Facebook page. Facebook pays all the processing fees so 100 per cent of any donation goes directly to the charity.
