Arran Art Trail studios reopen with changes to organisers
Artists on the Arran Art Trail are busy preparing for re-opening their studios, and welcoming visitors once again.
The brochure from 2020/21 will remain in place until Easter 2022. It can be picked up from the VisitScotland office, on the ferry and at various venues around the island.
It is also available online at www.arranarttrail.com The enrolment for 22/23 will be some time in the autumn.
The Arran Art Trail evolved from the success of the annual Arran Open Studios event in August when some 30 to 40 artists take part and the two have been mutually supportive.
Some of the artists expressed a desire to open their studios to the public all year round and so jeweller Ann Hume and painter Angela Elliott Walker launched the Arran Art Trail in 2017.
It has proved to be a popular attraction for islanders and visitors alike.
After five years, four years running the trail and a year in planning, the time has now come for Angela and Ann to hand over the reins to some new managers.
Ann will continue to be on the committee for Arran Open Studios and both will remain participants in the Art Trail but relinquishing the Art Trail managing responsibilities will give them both more time to focus on their own work.
