PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK
Reader and regular contributor to the Banner, Allan Napier of Catacol, has once again photographed an unusual sight in Kilbrannan Sound. It is of the Queen Elizabeth, the £400 million, transatlantic cruise ship operated by the Cunard Line, as it makes its way past the north of Arran in the mist. The ship is 964.5 feet in length and carries 2,081 guests and 1,005 crew. It is named after the more famous Queen Elizabeth 2 which retired in 2008 and is now a floating hotel in Dubai.
