Arran runners compete in Saltcoats in NAAC Festival
Arran runners were in Saltcoats last weekend for the return of the North Ayrshire Athletics Club Festival of Running events.
The seven runners took part in the NAAC 10k which saw a reduced field of just over 200 runners take to the streets of the Three Towns, with the start and finish at St Matthews Academy. A 2k children’s race was also held on the day.
The race is one of the few that Arran runners can do in the same day and those who attended, some for the first time, put in some pretty decent times despite the warm conditions.
Two running groups regularly meet on Arran. The jogscotlandarran group meet in Whiting Bay on a Monday and the Arran Pace Makers on a Wednesday both at 5.30pm. See What’s On for contact details.
