Share some love and cheer this Christmas

-

Blythswood Care have launched their 2021 Christmas shoebox appeal and once again St Bride’s Church, Brodick, will be acting as the collection and checking point for the island, writes Hugh Boag.

The filled shoeboxes will be sent off to countries in Eastern Europe where they are distributed to people for whom things that we take for granted, such as toothpaste, soap, or a warm scarf, are considered luxury items. The arrival of these gifts at Christmas brings a huge amount of joy to men, women and children who have so little.

If you would like to support this very worthwhile charity, leaflets and some empty shoeboxes are available in the vestibule of the church. The leaflet gives you suggestions of essential items the charity would like you to include, as well as ideas for other items which can be included.

The filled boxes should be handed in at Brodick Church no later than Sunday October 24.
