Listen to the children

-

How good it is to see children on Arran getting involved in the climate change discussion.

After all, it is their future which will be being discussed when the world leaders descend on Glasgow at the end of the month for the COP26 conference.

And Strathclyde University are determined children from the islands of Scotland will have their say with their Message in a Bottle project.

Children on Arran, and around Scotland, have had the chance to share their hopes of the measures that can be taken to tackle climate change and these will be presented to delegates at the conference.

They have also embarked on beach cleans in their own areas as a way of seeing at first hand the damage pollution causes to the sea.

It has also been nice to see Arran’s own Bethany Walsh, recently graduated, back at her old school in Whiting Bay with her message of climate change hope.

We hope the Message in a Bottle project is a success and that delegates in Glasgow take heed of the messages of the children.

Because if we don’t listen to them, what sort of planet are we going to leave them when we are gone?
