Community groups asked to make use of three wishes

-

North Ayrshire Council is inviting community groups on Arran to make use of its new online portal offering ‘three wishes’ in an attempt to bridge the needs of local groups with council contractors and suppliers.

Community Benefits Wish List has been launched on the North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership website as part of the council’s Community Wealth Building strategy.

Community groups can register their community benefit wishes, including: donations of materials to a community garden, food donations to a community larder, free printing for a community event or an expert giving a small charity some free help for an afternoon.

Council leader Councillor Joe Cullinane said: ‘The launch of the new Community Benefits Wish List is yet another step in the council’s Community Wealth Building strategy. The wish list will put important community projects on the radar of contractors which can provide them with support to achieve their ambitions, grow their capacity and realise their potential.

‘Community Wealth Building is all about working in partnership with communities and businesses to build a strong local economy which supports fair work, encourages local spend and uses the land and property we own for the common good so that wealth stays local.’

Community groups can register online at northayrshire.community/wishlist and contractors interested in delivering a wish can view the list of requests on the website and contact the council via email at communitybenefits@ north-ayrshire.gov.uk
