Second farmers market planned for Bellevue Farm
Following the success of the first Arran Farmers Market in September, which was attended by more than 900 people, Arran’s Food Journey and Bellevue Farm will host a second Farmers Market at the start of December, writes Colin Smeeton.
Scheduled to take place at Bellevue Farm on Sunday December 5, the Winter Farmers Market will provide shoppers with the opportunity to meet local producers and growers and learn exactly where their food is coming from and all about the living standards of the livestock.
Most importantly, for a farmers market, will be the opportunity to buy seasonal vegetables and locally reared meat from the farmers themselves.
On offer too will be a wide selection of Arran products ranging from baked goods, beer, honey, milk, whisky and ice cream to coffee, cheese and oatcakes, to name just a few.
The Winter Farmers Market is an ideal family day out with food and drinks available for rustic picnics. Tractors, toys and farmyard animals will also be available to keep the children entertained.
