Have your say on future local transport strategy

-

Islanders are being urged to take part in consultations on North Ayrshire Council’s Local Transport and Active Travel Strategy (LTATS).

Last year, local people and stakeholders were asked how they think the transport network in North Ayrshire could be improved, whether it is existing issues or what they would like to see in place in the future, and the findings of that consultation and analysis of the data informed a draft strategy.

Now residents, businesses and visitors are being invited to share their views on the draft LTATS to help the council finalise the proposals and ensure it can improve transport for everyone in the area.

An online consultation will be available until Sunday April 23 by visiting http:// northayrshiretransportstrategy.com.

An in-person event will take place on Tuesday April 11, between 2.30pm and 6.30pm, at Brodick Hall.

Councillor Tony Gurney, cabinet member for place, said: “We welcome the feedback we received during the first stage and would encourage participation in this next phase of consultation. “Transport affects everyone in North Ayrshire, for example enabling people to access employment, education, healthcare, social and leisure activities. “Enhancing the transport network is a key driver to improve the local economy, improve the environment, increase social inclusion and deliver health benefits through active travel.

“The draft strategy aims to provide a framework for investment and decision-making up to 2028 and identifies our draft priorities to improve transport across North Ayrshire in this period.”
