Two more Covid booster vaccine clinics on offer
Arran residents who are eligible for a spring booster vaccine, or who are otherwise due a dose to complete their Covid vaccination course will have another two opportunities to attend vaccine clinics over the next two months.
The vaccines are being offered to everyone aged 75 years and over, care home residents and those aged five years and over who have a weakened immune system.
Last month clinics were held at Arran High School in Lamlash and visits to housebound and care home residents were also carried out.
For those who were unable to attend, there are two further opportunities to be vaccinated, at clinics at Brodick Health Centre on Friday June 9, 11am – 3pm, and Friday July 14, from 11am to 3pm.
To make an appointment, either for a spring booster (if eligible) or to complete an original course of Covid vaccinations, please contact the national vaccination helpline on 0800 030 8013 to get booked in. Please do not call the Arran Medical Group regarding an appointment.
Alternatively, people can arrange an appointment online by using the booking portal, which can be accessed on the NHS Inform website at nhsinform.scot/ springbooster.
The website also has video guides explaining how to use the portal to help anyone who has not used it previously.
A small number of outstanding visits to housebound patients and care home residents will also to take place on the same dates as the clinics in June and July.
NHS Ayrshire and Arran public health director Lynne McNiven, said: “Covid-19 is still with us so it’s really important that you get your spring booster if you’re eligible.
“Booster doses are safe, effective, and help to top up your protection against serious illness from the virus.
