FINISHED PAINTING

Towards the Light, watercolour on Saunders Waterford High White Not, 22317in (56343cm).

Overall I was happy with the painting but something was niggling me about the line of the pan handle on the left. To extend it would bring it too close to the steamer handle, so after playing about with angles and perspective I scrubbed it out. The handle needed to be quite loose to keep the strength of the steamer and pans to the right. I feel that this emphasises the central light and there is a V-shape leading the eye to it. There is still a handle niggle, although not as great. I think there are merits in both versions
