It's a wrap
I was most pleased to receive the latest copy of The Artist through my door a few days ago. I was further delighted at the enclosed sample of Hahnemühle watercolour paper, but the plain paper packaging delighted me most of all. I applaud the replacement of the usual plastic cover.
Firstly, I was inspired to reach for my neglected pad of Hahnemühle Moulin du Coq paper and attempted a chiaroscuro study from a Parian figure I had photographed some years ago, with the intention of just such a study!
Also, for some time I have sent personalised cards for birthdays, etc, to various family members. I have gained most inspiration from scribbling on the back of envelopes to establish a composition. I have three cards due in the next few weeks. The inside of the The Artist paper packing proved an ideal surface for a mood board (left). What good value for money (and source of inspiration) The Artist magazine continues to be!
