Finding motivation

Last year, shortly after having to stop our art group meetings, I decided to send the group a suggested programme to keep us all motivated and painting. Many of the group are slightly older and so not keen for me to set up Zoom art meetings, so this was the next best thing.

I have subscribed to The Artist for many years and I am always amazed by the interesting demonstrations and ideas. I was particularly inspired by Alan Bickley's article ' Drawing with pen, line and wash' in the summer 2020 issue. My back copies were extremely useful in helping me to compile my lockdown programme. What a success it has been: there have been some fantastic paintings produced and some great interpretations from your ideas. So from our art group, a huge thank you to The Artist for keeping us painting and motivated as a group.
