Tracey Krupianka has been passionate about drawing and painting for as long as she can remember. ‘When I was at school, my favourite lesson was art and I subsequently achieved an A grade at A-Level,’ she writes. ‘After leaving school I went on to open a shop selling paintings and painted glassware, before moving to Australia where I was fully occupied looking after my twin girls. Eight years later I returned to the UK and started to paint full time, taking workshops and leading art

demonstrations for art clubs, art events and societies all over the north of England, which I really enjoy.

‘At the beginning of the first lockdown, my career came to a full stop, so I decided to post a painting on social media every day. As my paintings are always lively and full of colour, I hoped they would cheer people up at this difficult time. As a result I was inundated with commissions, which has kept me very busy all the way through lockdown to now, but I absolutely love what I’m doing.

‘Pool-in-Wharfedale (above) is a style I’ve adopted over lockdown. I’m passionate about bright colours. I do lots of walking and I’m always taking photos of buildings and scenery that inspire me. I do some sketches and work out a composition with lots of artistic licence, then start the painting – the brighter the better!’
