LEIGH PARRY: a retrospective
Leigh Parry (1919-2017) will be familiar to The Artist readers for the articles he contributed to the magazine over many years. Working in oils, pastels and watercolour he became a renowned equestrian artist. He was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists, president of the Pastel Society from 1983-1988, a member of the Equestrian Artists and honorary member of the Pastel Society of Canada – as well as serving on the board of governors of the Federation of British Artists at the Mall Galleries. His work is held in many public and private collections around the world. In celebration of his life and work a retrospective exhibition will be held at the Stamford Arts Centre, PE9 2DL, from September 6 to 18, featuring a selection of oils, pastels, watercolours and pencil drawings of landscapes, townscapes, people and, of course, horses.
