Sketch of Lots Road pub

This sketch of the scene at Lots Road pub was made with brown ballpoint pen, white ink pen and brown coloured pencils. I was able to capture the overall mood of the place, with my focus on the positioning of things, perspective and the tonal values. This gave me a rough idea of how the little gouache painting I planned to do would turn out. I put down a few notes and made sure I had enough information on the sketch, just in case I wasn’t able to finish the painting on site
