YOU WILL NEED

The fish. A fishmonger’s shop can be daunting and overwhelming for sensitive people. I used mackerel and sardines for this article but bigger fish are probably better to print from. Unfortunately, the only thing I know about fish is that they go with chips and they’re better off left in the sea!

The paper. Chinese rice paper; art supply shops usually stock this.

The paint. Sumi ink, burnt sienna ink, watercolour paints. The brushes. Hakes, riggers, small synthetic round brushes and bristle fan brushes.
