VIEWFINDERS

Have two or three of these of different proportions, eg 3 2cm, 4 3cm, 6 5cm – even a square if you’re feeling brave! Mark these with half, third and quarter measurements at the edge of the central hole. I tend to make my own out of strips of card or old mounts. If you are planning to work on canvas back in the studio, it is worth checking the dimensions you have and taking appropriate viewfinders; for example, a 100 75cm will require a 4 3cm viewfinder.
