STAGE FOUR
Various transition tones and colours were introduced to bridge passages of paint and add more description. These were mixed with both vibrant and muted colours by choosing the primaries carefully for each mix. A vibrant green was mixed with cerulean, ultramarine and lemon yellow for the sunlit side of the green boat, while a muted grey blue was used to describe the shadow side of the white boat next to it. The shadows were modified a touch with a more opaque cool mix. An ochre colour was mixed with cadmium yellow and alizarin crimson, modified with titanium white and ultramarine blue for the mast
