Spring, Rockcliffe, Dumfries and Galloway Coast

Although this subject does not have a strong lead-in, I felt that the large blossom tree carried the eye effectively from the foreground directly to the focal point. By adjusting the width of my painting, when compared to the reference photograph, I was able to position the tree approximately one-third in from the left-hand side, thereby creating a balanced composition.
