REFERENCE PHOTOGRAPH

I was attracted by the blossom and by the distant glimpse of the sea. I felt that the composition was near perfect and that all I needed to do was to enhance the colour slightly. Gouache is the perfect medium where bold colour is required. Although the quality of the photograph isn’t great, I intended to adjust colour and value and it allowed me to rely more on memory and instinct
