STAGE FIVE
Once cut, the block can be inked. I spread a bead of ink onto a small sheet of glass and used the roller to evenly distribute the ink. You need to create the correct tackiness that is required to form a layer of ink on the roller ready to be distributed onto the block. The roller should appear to slightly stick to the ink and not slide around. I made the mistake of using too much ink and had to remove some. You will hear a distinct ‘tearing’ like sound when the roller is picking up ink of the right consistency. Take care to roll the ink onto the block covering all the raised areas that are to print equally
