STAGE FOUR

This final stage of blocking in was completed by painting the water. This was fairly still, with just a little movement adding distortion to the surface. Continuing to work loosely and allowing the black ground to show though where necessary, I used the following colours to paint four or five, grey/blue mixes: primary blue, ultramarine, black and white and small amounts of yellow ochre and alizarin crimson to grey down the combinations of blue, black and white
