STAGE FOUR
Once the mass of the dog was more-or-less completed, I moved onto more detailed work. I prefer doing the background last as this allows me to lean on the canvas to do the finer detail. The eyes and nose are a crucial triangle for expression, and by painting them in early on I can make sure they are positioned correctly. I mixed the colour for the tan points with predominantly cadmium yellow and cadmium red to give the clear orange I wanted
exhibits in galleries across Cornwall including the Tyler Gallery, Gallery Tresco and The Summerhouse Gallery. Her work has been selected for the annual exhibition of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters for the last two years.
