A Typical Seago-Style Landscape, oil on Belle Arti board, 15¾ 19¾in (40 50cm).

While the previous layer was still wet, I worked another layer of more intense thicker colour over the whole painting, and some finer brushwork was used to indicate the distant church, fences and open gate. Seago was a prolific painter, who generally completed a painting in a couple of hours, which is one reason why his paintings always look fresh, spontaneou­s and not laboured! I’ve left plenty of brushmarks visible, but I’ve blended in some hard edges using my fingers
