Example three – several colours in a wash

The sky in this painting was painted using the wash technique shown in example two, but here I began with French ultramarine blue. The yellow is raw sienna and the main part of the sky is permanent rose. When using three colours in a wash, things are more complicated, and the washes usually turn out slightly different each time
