FOOTBALL Art Prize
The Football Art Prize, which coincided with the 2022 FIFA World Cup, received submissions from artists around the world celebrating art and football. An exhibition of the 69 shortlisted artworks by 50 artists, will go on show at Touchstones Rochdale, until June 26. It will then tour to the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield, from July 2022, and to Sunderland Museum & Winter Gardens, from November 2022. Buckinghamshire-based artist, Toby Michael won first prize, worth £5,000, for his oil painting of Roy Keane, right, which was inspired by an infamous photograph of Keane holding an ice cream while scowling at the camera.
