Sending-in days Artist@Soane Residency
Details: Sir John Soane’s Museum is inviting creatives to take part in Artist@Soane, a new residency for artists, architects and designers to mark the restoration of Soane’s Drawing Office. The museum occupies three buildings, Nos 12, 13 and 14 Lincoln’s Inn Fields, and houses Sir John Soane’s collection of paintings, sculpture, books, drawings, furniture, architectural fragments and models. Starting in the spring of 2023, two residents will be hosted annually, for three months each (March to May and September to November. Full details are available from the website.
When: To enter, applicants must complete the online application form. The deadline for submissions is 5pm, October 4.

Dorset Art Prize
Details: Rewarding and celebrating art from across Dorset, the exhibition is free to enter by both emerging and established artists. The exhibition takes place at Poole Museum in November, dates tbc.

Folio Book Illustration Award 2022
Details: To celebrate The Folio Society’s 75th anniversary, The Folio Society is inviting entries to its first International Folio Book Illustration Award. This is a new, free-to-enter competition, open to illustrators, students or professional artists who have not previously been commissioned by the Folio Society. Entrants will illustrate a single scene of their choice from Edgar Allan Poe’s The Masque of the Red Death.

Niddart Trail 2022
Details: The Niddart Trail showcases the diverse work of the artists, craftspeople and makers of Nidderdale and the surrounding areas. The trail is free to enter and open to anyone in the locality whatever your level of skill and experience. This year’s voluntary theme is ‘Celebration’. When: This year’s Niddart Trail takes place between August 19 and 29.

International Original Print Exhibition
Details: The International Original Print Exhibition, established by the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (RE), is an international open submission exhibition celebrating the best of contemporary printmaking. Royal Society of Marine Artists (RSMA)
Details: Submissions of painting and sculpture are invited relating to tidal waters. Topographical, historical, still life, and figure painting are all welcome; works relating to non-tidal rivers, inland lakes and waterways, etc. are not. Acceptable media are oils, acrylics, watercolour, original prints of any media, mixed media, drawing, pastels or sculpture. Any artist over the age of 18 may enter. Sketch for Survival Introducing
Details: Sketch for Survival is a charitable initiative organised by the charity Explorers Against Extinction to help raise awareness about species extinction and habitat loss while also raising vital funds for nominated frontline conservation projects through the sale of artworks.
The exhibition is free to enter. Full guidelines are available online.
Exhibition: One hundred artworks are selected from all submissions to join the Sketch for Survival exhibition tour. In 2021 the tour visited Norwich, London and COP26 in Glasgow.

Society of Wildlife Artists
Details: The Society of Wildlife Artists invites submissions of wildlife art for its annual The Natural Eye exhibition. Any work depicting wildlife is admissible, but not botanical and domestic animals. Artists over 18 may submit works in any medium. Exhibition: An exhibition of selected work will go on show at the Mall Galleries, London, from October 14 to 24.

Wales Contemporary
Details: Supported by the Welsh Government, Wales Contemporary/Cymru Gyfoes is the first international open exhibition dedicated to Wales. Now in its third year, the exhibition celebrates all aspects of the country by inviting artists to submit work that is inspired by its people, its heritage, its history, its traditions, its landscape as well as its contemporary culture. Exhibition: A touring exhibition will start at the Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven in Wales from October 1. It will then tour to the gallery@oxo in London in November.
