António Saíde has served as national director of the new and renewable energy department at the Ministry of Energy. He was responsible for developing the biofuels policy and strategy, biofuels, and its blending regulation, biofuels sustainable criteria, including the preparation of the renewable feed-in tariff. Since 2015, he has covered the position of CEO & Chairperson of FUNAE. He holds a degree in physics from Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) and a master’s degree in renewable energies from Beuth University, Germany.
