What exciting incoming projects do you expect to take part in?

The North Field expansion is by far the most important and largest project taking place in Qatar in the short to long term. It is a huge investment by the government. We look forward to being a part of this project as a subcontractor thanks to our engineering capacity. We also hope to be awarded some packages. In addition, a few of Qatar Petroleum’s fields will be a main focus for us. Secondly, there will be fan zones for the 2022 FIFA World Cup stadiums, which is different from the stadium packages. Third, is the IT infrastructure for the next era in Qatar. Qatar seems to invest into fully integrated digital platforms; we will focus on that, because we want to be part of the transformation process.

What are your immediate strategic priorities for 2020 and 2021?

We are a group with an engineering and technology focus. We aim to bring international best technology practices and implement them in Qatar’s engineering market. We are one of the leading companies in terms of bringing innovation and advanced solutions from the global markets to the local market, but we want to deliver increasingly customized solutions. We also aim to keep supplying IT resources to the government, which will directly contribute to the maturity and understanding of the global requirements and standards by the local market. We will push to contribute to the digital transformation of the country, especially in light of important deadlines such as 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2030 Qatar National Vision.
