Jorge Morera CEO, JOMTEL TELECOMUNICACIONES
What strategies is Jomtel using to continue innovating in the security market?
Our company is always innovating and researching. In fact, we recently completed the C4 of Ciudad Juárez, one of the most dangerous cities in the world. There, we deployed a new software of Chinese origin that is able to recognize the faces of the people in vehicles, in order to detect if they are using their cellphones and driving at the same time, or if they are not wearing a seatbelt. All this is thanks to the information in the database. It also includes the license plate, brand, and even the colors of the cars. The search can take just seconds since it works with national platforms. There are products and services that are only we offer throughout the country.
You have a significant presence in the Mexican market. What are your expansion plans?
We are present in 26 states and 50 municipalities of Mexico at present. At a federal level, we are in the most important sectors of the government, such as PEMEX, the Mexico City airport, and Red Cross, among others. Regarding the patrol sector, we equip more than 6,000 of them. In terms of expansion plans, we were considering expanding the national market, which was affected by the many changes that came about as a result of the elections. We are also planning to retain our clients and win tenders in the states that we have not worked in yet. We also want to provide services in Panama and several countries in Central America, particularly those that do not have as much technology as we do. In terms of an international expansion, we are scheduled to begin offering emergency vehicles to Guatemala, Belize, Panama, and El Salvador at the beginning of 2022.
