THIS year’s contest draws to a close as the four finalists take to the stage in the first part of the two-part climax.

Having progressed through seven weeks of blind auditions, two battle rounds, four live knockout stages and the ever-tense quarter- and semifinals, the would-be stars face the ultimate test of their vocal abilities, with the winner earning themselves a prestigiou­s contract with Polydor Records.

Superstar coaches will.i.am, Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and Gavin Rossdale are on hand to share their thoughts as each performer steps down from the stage, with one of them being eliminated from the contest before the last programme of the series.

LINE OF DUTY Tomorrow, BBC1, 9pm

A NEW DCI takes on Operation Trapdoor as Roz fails to report for duty.

A dismembere­d body is discovered, and the AC-12 team delves deeper into the case as evidence mounts up that an innocent man has been convicted of crimes he did not commit.

Kate makes progress in her undercover role as all the signs point to crucial evidence being covered up by Roz, and the main informant, forensics investigat­or Tim Ifield, goes missing.

CHILD OF OUR TIME Monday, BBC1, 9pm

THESE 25 children born in 2000 are now 16, free to live by themselves, get married, pay taxes and even have offspring of their own. Robert Winston and Tanya Byron catch up with them in a two-part documentar­y.

Among the highlights is Charlie’s first taste of love, Eve’s life-changing revelation, and Jamie discussing the shocking events that caused him to re-evaluate his priorities. There’s also an insight into research involving human biology and neuroscien­ce that helps to explain the baffling aspects of this stage of life – moody teenagers!

BAKE OFF: CREME DE LA CREME Tuesday, BBC2, 8pm

IN all the fuss about The Great British Bake Off, it seems no one has been paying much attention to the fact that there have also been big changes made to this spin-off.

But it’s back to remind us with

a new presenter, Angus Deayton, who takes over from Tom Kerridge, and a revamped format which sees groups of five teams competing across three heats.

In the first edition the teams must make 36 identical Moka au Cafe slices and 36 identical Napoleons, in just three hours.

ME AND MY DOG: THE ULTIMATE CONTEST Wednesday, BBC2, 8pm

CHRIS PACKHAM hosts the show where dog owners and their pets compete in physical and mental challenges designed to test their ability to communicat­e, with trainers and canine scientists on hand to help them develop the relationsh­ip between human and animal.

ISIS AND THE BATTLE FOR IRAQ Thursday, Channel 4, 11pm

A DISPATCHES special investigat­on into the other side of the war against the so-called Islamic State, looking into allegation­s of torture, execution and sectarian cleansing by the Shia militia against fellow Iraqis. The film reports from outside Mosul, where Sunni refugees fleeing Isis face a new threat – potential imprisonme­nt and torture by the militia. Reporter Ramita Navai goes undercover to meet victims.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW Friday, BBC1, 10.35pm

GRAHAM catches up with Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, stars of new heist comedy Going in Style. Plus, comedian Jack Whitehall and Game of Thrones actress Gemma Whelan talk about their roles in BBC1’s Evelyn Waugh adaptation, Decline and Fall.

The nation’s favourite man band Take That feature, while Graham also subjects more audience members to the dreaded red chair – so their stories had better be good.
