Dunston hit by multiple injury worries

- By STEVE CLARKE

DUNSTON UTS travel to relegated Chester-le-Street this weekend but their plans have been severely hampered by injury problems.

The Gateshead side is without Scott Heslop, Christopher Youldon, Dale Burrell and Steven Richardson against the alreadydoomed Cestrians.

Ashington are at Marske United and are without Craig Scott and Shaun Bell but otherwise have a full squad to choose from.

Newcastle Benfield host West Auckland Town and the visitors are in need of points for survival.

Club official Cliff Alderson said: “It will be a tough game with Newcastle Benfield, especially with Paul Brayson and John Campbell up front.

“It will not be easy but we will try and take something from it.”

South Shields welcome Morpeth Town, Michael Richardson still struggling with a dead leg for the home side.

Division Two sees the top two sides meet in a clash which could decide the title.

Both Team Northumbria and Stockton Town are already promoted but Students’ boss Colin Stromsoy has one eye on the top spot.

He said: “While we are delighted to be promoted we would like to win and take the title challenge to the last game of the season.”

Stockton, who need just a point to claim the title, have Matthew Garbutt as their only absentee.

He is hoping to be fit for the Ernest Armstrong Cup final on April 29.

Alnwick Town welcome Thornaby, the visitors without James Rowe who broke his foot last week.

Stuart Browne and Nathan Wilson are also missing but Matthew Campbell could be back.

Bedlington Terriers entertain Crook Town who have a fully-fit squad to choose from, while Blyth Town welcome Heaton Stannington.

Town have goalkeeper Michael Robinson and Malcolm Morien back but will be without Michael Riley.

Whickham host Northallerton Town and visiting manager Darren Trotter has important decisions to make regarding team selection.

He has to try and choose a team which is capable of winning the game while also having one eye on the upcoming cup final against Stockton next week.
