Vettic only second side to be stung by Cobras!

KILLINGWOR­TH YPC Cobras celebrated just their second win of the season with a 3-1 success over Newbiggin Hall Vettic.

Nathan Burns, Christian Lowes and Scott Pratt earned them all three points.

Earlier in the week Wardley had left Killingwor­th with all three points as goals from Adam Byron and Liam Jobson-Cooke sealed a 2-0 win.

Gosforth Bohemian Reserves picked up a brace of victories.

They went a goal behind to Newbiggin Hall Vettic when Marti Winch netted but Pete Hall struck four times and Michael Romney, Luke Gribbon and David Hodgson completed their tally.

Romney struck again in their 2-0 verdict over North Shields Athletic Reserves, Nick Chance also netting.

Cramlingto­n Town Reserves kept up the pressure on Ponteland United Reserves with a 4-2 success over Morpeth Town Seniors.

Dean Shortt, David Heppell, Daniel Purvis and Jordan Lashley were on target for Cramlingto­n while Ross Donnelly and Ash McAlpine countered for Morpeth.

Stobswood Welfare dropped crucial points in the race for the title against Forest Hall YPC.

Craig Muter’s counter was cancelled out by Hall’s Joe Thompson in a 1-1 draw.

Earlier in the week Welfare had beaten Newbiggin Hall 6-1 despite a Jordan Wilson strike.

Robert Baker celebrated a hattrick last week but netted just once this time, Jake Baker registerin­g the treble this time around.

Kevin Bell and Ryan Jones completed the scoring.

West Jesmond returned to winning ways with a 4-1 result at Monkseaton A.

Stuart Davidson bagged a brace with Ed Shanks and Marc Cowley also on target, Sean Allen netting the consolatio­n goal for the hosts.

Forest Hall YPC had earlier seen off Monkseaton 4-0 - Mark Murtagh and Jack Foalle with braces.
