Your generosity can help make a real difference
HI everyone,
We would like to welcome Caitlin this week, she has joined us in the Sunshine Fund office on work experience and has been an absolute joy to have. She has a huge interest in working with the charity and media so we thought it would be a wonderful idea to let her take over the column this week and share with you all how she is getting on:
“This week I’ve had the wonderful opportunity of working alongside the team at the Chronicle Sunshine Fund. I was immediately welcomed into such a lovely environment and it was instantly clear how dedicated and caring the team here are.
“Having looked into the charity’s recent events and fundraising campaigns, I’ve seen the incredible impact on the lives and happiness of the children and their families due to the commitment of the charity and its supporters. It’s so heart warming to see the outcome of everyone’s kindness and the difference it can have on someone’s life. With the recent success of the Go Bananas appeal, the future is looking bright!
“With the Christmas fundraising appeal in preparation, your support is so important and has the power to change the lives of children living with disabilities in the North East and their families. Volunteers are always welcomed and appreciated. It’s an amazing feeling to see the life-changing impact your contribution has on the children who are depending on your help.
“Just a few hours of your time once a week will contribute to the amazing efforts of the team here. To those who have donated in the past or are considering donating – your generosity means the world whilst also having the potential to change someone’s world.
“Perhaps you could take advantage of the warm weather and go outside to do some exciting fundraising with friends or family. “Whether it be a cake sale, a sponsored walk, arts and crafts, a picnic or a tea party; it’s up to you. There are many ways to get involved, varying from office work to fundraising in the community, whichever suits you best. Your involvement, however large or small, is always welcome.
“Each of us, as individuals and as a community, can come together to give disabled children the specialist equipment and experiences they deserve, to live the most fulfilling life, and the bravery they show every day inspires us to do so. So, don’t hesitate to volunteer and help fundraise, and have the loveliest summer!”
