Nine-goal Irving is Chev goalden boy in huge win

EAST Chevington went goal crazy at Guidepost Shakespear­e Tavern in round two of the Alan Davison Cup, triumphing 17-1.

Jamie Irving netted for the home side, Chevington’s impressive tally made up of strikes from Darren Smith (9), Luke Baston (4), Kevin Bell (2) and Josh Baston (2).

Ashington Sporting Club beat neighbours Ashington RAOB 6-0.

Brent Aisbitt led the scoring with a hat-trick, Kyle Downey (2) and Chris Glass completing the scoring.

Ashington Station Lounge prevailed 4-1 at home against Marden Residents.

Damien Stevens hit a hat-trick, John Leonard also on target. Ryan Smith replied for the Residents.

Earsdon Red Lion progressed in the NFA Sunday Cup with a 6-1 win at home against Bebside Inn.

Matty Newman (2), Michael Wedderburn, Eddie Garrett, Mitchell Renney and Michael Tatum scored for the Lion, Gavin Agnew for Bebside.

High Street also went through 4-1 against Prodhoe Town East End. Brandon Nadeem (2), Anthony Goldie and Chris Laidlaw were Street’s marksmen.

The only game in the Premier Division saw Amble Tavern triumph 5-1 at home against the Whitehouse Ashington.

Dan Thompson hit a hat-trick, Adam Shanks with the other counters. Jordan Lashley netted for the Whitehouse.

In Division One, Block and Tackle came through 7-5 at home against North Blyth Bar.

Bradley Higgins notched four times, Kieran Park, Sam Wake and Ross Jeffrey completing the scoring.

Goals for the North Bar came from Connor Willis (2) and Andrew Bell (2).

Ellington Plough went down at home 5-2 against Bedlington Sunday.

Jack Travers and Sam Wright scored for the Plough, efforts for the Bedlington side from Andrew McLennen (2), Tommy Wilkinson, Glen Reardon and David Kewn.

AMBLE Tavern visit Dawdon Park Welfare on Sunday (2.00) in the prestigiou­s FA Sunday Cup.
