WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THIS YEAR’S WISH MONEY?

Any money raised this year will go towards purchasing new camping equipment. With one hundred young people we have a specific need to add to our camping marquee. The existing one is more than twenty years old and coming to the end of its useful life. The new marquee will make food preparation and eating meals much more easier at camp. TELL US ABOUT YOUR GROUP.

Established in 1974, the Scout group runs a very active Beaver Scout colony, Cub Scout pack and Scout troop. 100 young people aged between six and 14 are members of the group, supported by 14 volunteers. We all meeting at the Brantwood Scout headquarters in Monkseaton. WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE AT YOUR GROUP?

A wide range of Scout activities. WHO IS THE LONGEST SERVING MEMBER OF YOUR GROUP?

Colin Raistrick - a member of the group for more than 30 years. TELL US ABOUT THE BIGGEST OR BEST ACTIVITY OR EVENT YOUR GROUP HAS ORGANISED.

Attending a large camp in Yorkshire. The activities were fun, stretching and imaginative, which young people could not stop talking about. The Scouts particularly liked driving cars with the AA. WHAT IS YOUR GROUP’S PROUDEST MOMENT TO DATE?

Our proudest achievement is welcoming young people to the Scout group who have a disability and working with the individual to make sure they get the best out of their Scout activities. We are proud that Scouting is for all. WHY SHOULD SOMEONE JOIN YOUR GROUP?

Scouting is fun and offers the chance to meet new friends, challenge and adventure and skills for life.

A programme that becomes building blocks for future success.

What makes you proud to be from the North-east using five words?
