Rockets seek funding lift-off - with your help

RUGBY LEAGUE

-

CRAMLINGTON Rockets are trying to win £25,000 to grow rugby league in Northumberland.

The Rugby Football League’s National Community Club of the Year is appealing to the people of the North East to vote for them in the Aviva Community Fund.

If successful, the money will go towards the club expanding their work to bring rugby league to the people of Northumberland and beyond and provide more sporting opportunities for the whole community.

The Rockets were recently recognised as the RFL Community Club of the Year due to their excellent community work, which now reaches 30,000 people a year across all ages.

All this work is self-funded by the club and its community team is the only one of its type in the UK attached to an amateur rugby league club.

With voting running until midday on November 21, the Rockets are aiming to attract 10,000 votes to go through to the finals.

That means they need 1,000 people to use all 10 of their votes for them.

It is quick and easy to register and vote.

Go to www. vivacommunityfund. co.uk.

Search for ‘Get Northumberland Rocketing’ in the projects and click ‘register to vote’ or log in.

Fill in your details and check your email account for a verification email if registering for the first time.

Then return to www. vivacommunityfund.co.uk and find the project page again.

Use all ten votes for the Rockets and share on social media.

There is more detail about the Rockets’ activities and plans on the project page - including their hopes of expanding their work into North Northumberland.
