GATESHEAD Hockey Club enjoyed Junior League success at Morpeth’s Longhirst Hall.

The under-10s and under-12s each won four and drew one of their five matches.

The under-14s did even better, truimphing in all their five fixtures against Morpeth’s first and second string, Tynedale, Newcastle and Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. ■■CONCORDIA A defeated Medics 42-31 in Division One of the Northumberland Winter Netball League’s Ladies League.

In Division Two, Morpeth B saw off Concordia B 30-28. ■■THE 2018 North East Midweek Cricket League season will start in the week beginning Monday, April 23.

Fixtures are due to be completed by Friday, August 17. ■■THE Northumberland Council finals of the Newcastle Eagles Hoops4Health junior basketball tournament will be held at Northumbria University’s Sport Central on January 30. ■■TRIALS for the North East under-13 girls’ hockey team will be held on Sunday, January 27 at a venue to be confirmed.
