The managerial merry-go-round

-

THE dismissal of football league coaches/managers has increased at pace in recent weeks while others face the axe before very much longer. However the only damage it does to the individual concerned is to their pride. In what other vocation can you get the sack, be compensated with a golden handshake and walk into similar employment elsewhere?

If you were an electrician, joiner etc, and didn’t do a very good job you would have great difficulty in getting a decent enough reference never mind being employed in a similar capacity within a matter of weeks. Incidentally, clubs that moan over the fixture congestion over the festive season are reminded of years gone by when the likes of Newcastle United and Sunderland, who if in the same league, would play each other home and away on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with no complaints whatsoever.
