Seven up for Chemfica in a top victory

NEWCASTLE Chemfica maintained their momentum at the top when they won 7-2 at Felling Magpies.

The visitors scored twice in the second half through Matthew Johnson but not before Steve McLaughlin had helped himself to a hat-trick, Chemfica’s other goals coming from Mazela (2), Lynn and Robson

Hazlerigg went on a goal spree against hosts Monkseaton, Martin Soulsby on target eight times in a 12-1 victory which maintains their title challenge.

Adding to Soulsby’s haul was Richard Coulson (2), an own-goal and one for Rees Fandell, while Emanuel Gomes claimed a consolatio­n for Monkseaton.

The visitors replied courtesy of Gilford with 15 minutes left.

A first-half hat-trick from Chris Hepple helped high-flying Winlaton Vulcans to a 5-1 verdict at lowly Gateshead Redheugh.

Redheugh pulled one back from the spot during the first half through Daniel Curry but conceded two more late on Liam Henderson grabbing a double inside the final ten minutes.

Killingwor­th YPC progressed in the Bill Gardner Cup at the expense of Premier Division opposition, dismissing Whitley Bay A 4-2 at home.

That after the hosts had Joe Besford dismissed midway through the first half.

Martin Roper netted twice for YPC, who led 2-1 at the break.

Although an own goal and a Connor Campbell finish levelled proceeding­s, the hosts went through as Konner Lamb and a late penalty from Malcolm Morien sealed the win.

Forest Hall edged Premier Division basement boys FC United of Newcastle 1-0.
