DERWENT Reservoir Sailing Club is hosting junior beginners’ windsurfin­g courses on Wednesday and Thursday, May 30 and 31.

The cost of a course is £35 and each one will run from 10.304.00. All equipment and wetsuits are provided.

The event is in support of England Golf’s Get into Golf campaign which aims to encourage more women to take up the sport. ■■SOUTH Shields Sea Cadets are holding sailing taster sessions at their Wapping Street base on Saturday and Sunday - and also on Saturday, May 26.

Sacriston made 62 0 - Callum Hutchinson taking 3-12, Joe Defty 3-20 and Jamie Hair 3-15 Sunderland 66-1 in reply. ■■SOUTH Shields CC’s Under-18s bowled out Whitburn for just eight runs - Shea Clements, David Cheverton and Elliott Campbell each claiming three wickets - to seal an 88-run victory in the George Peacock Memorial Cup. ■■CITY of Newcastle enjoyed a 10-4 victory over Ramside Hall in Division Three of the North Durham Golf League. Birtley lost 8-6 to Garesfield and Beamish beat Washington, also 8-6.
