Allison is at the double for Montagu
A BRACE from Stan Allison helped Montagu and North Fenham defeat Ellington Juniors 4-1 in the Under-15 Premiership the only league fixture in all the under-15 divisions. ■■WALLSEND Boys Club defeated Ponteland United PSG 4-3 in a close Under-16 League Cup final.
In the Challenge Shield it was Cramlington Town Whites who were the victors, triumphing 2-0 against Wideopen Wanderers. ■■A ROBBIE Smith brace steered Newburn Park to a 4-2 win over Kingston Park as they look to secure a second-placed finish in Division Two of the Under-17 League.
At the other end of the table, Blyth Rangers Valencia overcame Lemington Lions 3-2.
Fourth-placed Berwick Rangers missed the opportunity to move into second as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Ashington CFC.
In a battle near the bottom, Whitley Bay Sporting Club Blues triumphed 4-2 at Morpeth Town Real.
In Division One there were big wins for leaders Cullercoats Blacks and third-placed Corbridge United.
However, it is Newcastle East End Reds who could now be considered championship favourites with two games in hand in second place - four points behind Cullercoats.
A brace from Cullercoats Whites’ Josh Bairstow was not enough to beat Ashington Colliers in a seven-goal clash – the Colliers winning the game 4-3 in Division Two’s only fixture. ■■FOREST Hall Under-18s added the Sub League One title to their Ray Knight League crown with a 4-0 victory over Newburn Park.
Cramlington Juniors secured a second-placed finish with a 5-2 triumph over Cullercoats in the league’s only other fixture. ■■IN the Under-16 Women’s Division, Bedlington Bulldogs and Cramlington Town drew 3-3.
