Yellows show true colours to seal crown

WALLSEND Boys Club Yellows were crowned Under-14 Premiershi­p champions after a 2-0 win over Cramlingto­n Juniors Reds.

The Reds picked up a 2-0 win of their own, however, at home against Heaton Hawks.

Thomas Gary’s hat-trick steered Spittal Rovers to a 4-3 success over Blackfyne – and Cramlingto­n Town Blues prevailed 1-0 at Whitley Bay Sporting Club Whites.

Wallsend Boys Club Greens moved into second place with a 3-2 triumph over Grainger Park Magpies.

Goals from Joseph Simpson, Louis White and Lewis Wheallens cancelled out a brace from the Magpies’ Janu Matus.

A Daniel Levine doubled helped Kingston Park Phoenix edge past Blyth Town 4-3.

The only game in Division Two produced eight goals as Haydon Bridge and West Denton Barca drew 4-4.

Jamie O’Conner netted twice for Bridge but two counters each for Mark Wilkins and Kian Saville earned a point for the vistors.

There were even more goals in Division Three as Morpeth Town Cougars overcame Blyth Rangers Deportivo 6-5.

Roan Stark was on target four times for the Cougars – Josh Hewison twice for Deportivo.

There were 4-1 victories for third-placed Newcastle East End Red and second-placed Whickham Fellside in Division Four, Nathan Allsop with a brace for Fellside in their win over Ellington.

Newcastle Westgate secured second spot in Division Five with two victories.

They overcame Cramlingto­n United Jaguars thanks to braces from Kamil Bamar and Lewis Hay before beating third-placed Westmoor Juniors 4-2.

Heaton Hawks Kestrels prevailed 6-2 at Wideopen Warriors courtesy of a Hamid Akuntomede hat-trick and Westmoor saw off Seaton Delaval Dynamos 5-3.
