Pont more than happy to settle for second best with a big win

THERE was only one game in the Under-16 Premiershi­p - Ponteland United PSG securing a second-place finish with a big win over fourthplac­ed Berwick Rangers.

This meant Newcastle City Juniors Milan lifted the Premiershi­p after an undefeated season.

In Division One, Corbridge United triuimphed handsomely at home against Team Gosforth Feyenoord – and finished in the top three.

Blyth Town and Cramlingto­n Town Whites played out a 2-2 draw. ■■THE Under- 17 League Cup was also up for grabs – Newcastle East End Whites completing the double with a 4-1 win over Cramlingto­n Juniors, who finished just one point behind them in the Premiershi­p this season.

In the Challenge Shield it was Burradon Juniors who completed the double by beating Ryton and Crawcrook Albion in the final – Burradon also clinching the Division One title.

In Division Two, Newburn Park beat fourthplac­ed Kingston Park 4-3 at the top of the table – securing second place in the process.

Third-placed Prudhoe sealed their place in the top three with a 2-1 success over Blyth Rangers Valencia thanks to Finley Mark and Jason Waters. ■■UNDER-18 Ray Knight League winners Forest Hall completed a treble of trophies with a 2-1 win in the Pinpoint Recruitmen­t Under-18 League Cup final over North Shields Juniors Athletic.
