Force worker sacked over timekeeping
A NORTHUMBRIA Police employee was sacked over bad timekeeping.
The unnamed worker was found guilty of misconduct at a behindclosed-doors misconduct hearing.
They had entered “numerous false entries on their time recording system”, according to force records.
And a police officer was also rapped at another private meeting over “inappropriate” Facebook comments.
The force was unable to confirm what the comments were.
However, the officer was hauled before superiors over allegations of discreditable conduct and disobeying orders and instructions.
Both disciplinary panels were held on April 27, according to newly published public records.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “We expect the highest standard from all officers and staff. If those standards are not met, then we will take proportionate action.”
The officer was given “management advice” following the meeting.
Head of Professional Standards at Northumbria Police Det Supt Sav Patsalos said the culprits were dealt with “swiftly and robustly”.
He added: “I would also like to reassure the public that we have taken positive measures to reinforce the responsibilities of all officers and staff around Data Protection laws.”
