Three times the success for super triplets

-

THESE triplets showed the power of three on GCSE results day.

Cramlington Learning Village students Ella, Erin and Niamh Robson each had plenty of reasons to celebrate yesterday.

But after a nervous morning they could be delighted for their sisters too.

The 16-year-olds opened their all-important envelopes together and were far more supportive than competitive.

Between them they achieved a total of 27 grades of A*, A, 7, 8 or 9 in the second year of the Government’s new GCSE system.

In the words of their mum they “smashed it”.

There was even a remarkable symmetry between their results.

Ella scored a grade 9, six grade 8s, two grade 7s and an A*. Erin received three grade 9s, four grade 8s, two grade 7s and an A*. Niamh picked up three grade 9s, four grade 8s, two grade 7s and an A.

The triplets had revised together in preparation for the exams and saw their hard work pay off.

Erin said: “I was shocked. I didn’t think I’d do so well.”

Ella added: “I thought I had somebody else’s results. I thought this can’t be right.”

The girls are close friends as well as sisters and said they had always achieved similar results throughout their school life.

Niamh said: “We’re not really competitive. We just wanted us all to do well.”

Their mum Amanda Robson, 45, was understandably proud of her daughters. She said: “It feels like we’ve been through it three times over. It’s been tough, but it’s just been amazing as well.”
